Santa Maria

- Housing Committee:
- The Housing Committee meets every Thursday at 7:00pm at the PUEBLO Office
- This committee focuses on ensuring that renters knows their rights and have access to safe, sanitary and secure housing
- A few of the committee's victories so far have been conducting renters rights workshops, collecting renters' surveys, pushing they City to place traffic calming measures at dangerous curves and completing an 8 week renters rights and organizing training
- The committee often works on policy efforts in partnership with the Rental Housing Roundtable
- Youth Committee
- The Youth Committee meets every Friday (time varies-call 805-922-4447 to inquire)
- The Youth Committee has worked to improved bus services for students and low-income and rural neighborhoods and has also coordinated Financial Aid, AB540 informational workshops
- The Youth Committee also works to get youth registered to vote in time to participate in upcoming elections
- Immigration Committee
- The Immigration Committee meets every Monday at 7:00pm
- The committee has won victories around pushing for more just checkpoint policies and bringing back the Mexican Consulate despite threats from the Mayor
- Currently leaders are collecting signatures for COPA, an initiative that would provide undocumentd immigratns who work protection from deportation and an opportunity to pay income taxes

- Immigration Committee
- The Immigration Committee meets every Thursday at 6:30pm
- The committee has won victories around pushing for more just checkpoint policies and coordinating local actions around comprehensive immigration reform
- Currently leaders are collecting signatures for COPA, an initiative that would provide undocumentd immigratns who work protection from deportation and an opportunity to pay income taxes and also running a large scale house meeting campaign to expand its membership base
